This Privacy Policy explains how Intent, operated by Armand RIBEIRO (“Intent”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Intent mobile application (“App”) or the Intent website (“Site”).

Intent is designed around a local-first architecture. Whenever reasonably possible, information relating to how you use other applications remains on your device and is processed locally.

By using Intent, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

We are committed to collecting only the information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, synchronize, support, and improve Intent.

The information processed depends on the features you use, the permissions you grant, and the authentication method you choose.

Account and authentication information

An Intent account is required to use the App.

When you create or use an Intent account, we may process:

• Your email address

• A pseudonymous account identifier

• Your account creation date

• A first name or display name if you choose to provide one

• Account settings and preferences

• Basic account information provided through Google Sign-In if you choose that authentication method

If you sign in with Google, Google may provide information such as your email address, account identifier, name, or other basic profile information made available through Google Sign-In.

Intent does not receive or store your Google password.

Email authentication and Google authentication are managed using Supabase Auth and, where applicable, Google authentication services.

Local device and app usage information

Intent is designed to help Users reduce distracting app usage by detecting application activity and applying blocking, intervention, usage-limit, trigger, or redirection rules.

To provide these functions, Intent may process information locally on your device including:

• Applications installed or available on your device

• App names

• App icons

• Android package identifiers

• Applications you use

• App opening events

• Time and duration of app usage

• Daily and hourly screen-time information

• Number of app openings

• Number of Intent interventions

• Number of blocks

• Number of redirects

• Usage-limit information

• Trigger-count information

• Peak usage periods

• Statistics displayed within Intent

• Information used to generate habits or usage insights

For the current version of Intent, raw app usage events and historical usage statistics are intended to remain on your device.

Intent does not intentionally upload your complete app usage history, raw UsageStats history, detailed screen-time history, or complete list of installed applications to Supabase.

This information is primarily processed using local Android functionality and Intent’s local database.

Removing Intent, clearing its application data, or deleting your account may remove locally stored Intent information, subject to Android system behavior.

Information synchronized with your Intent account

Intent uses Supabase to provide authentication, backup, and synchronization of selected Intent information.

Information that may be synchronized includes:

• Account information

• Intent rules

• Rule names

• Applications selected within a rule

• Package identifiers necessary to identify apps selected in a rule

• Redirection destination applications

• Blocking or redirection mode

• Rule schedules

• Active days and time intervals

• Usage-limit configuration

• Trigger-count configuration

• Rule activation status

• Intent settings

• App Type preferences and User overrides

• Blocking or redirection screen personalization settings

• Other configuration necessary to restore your Intent setup

Raw historical app usage events and detailed historical usage statistics are not intended to be synchronized to Supabase in the current version of Intent.

Intent uses a local-first model: the device remains responsible for the operational execution of blocking, redirection, rules, and local statistics, while Supabase is used for authentication and synchronization of selected account configuration.

App Types

Intent may classify applications using categories such as Distracting, Neutral, or Useful.

Intent may provide a default global category for an application.

A default category is not based on an individual User’s personal usage information.

If you manually change an application’s category, Intent may store a personal override associated with your account.

Your personal App Type changes apply only to your account and do not modify the default categorization used by other Users.

These personal overrides may be synchronized through Supabase so that they can be restored when you sign in again or use a supported device.

Android permissions and device access

Certain Android permissions or system access are necessary for Intent to provide its core functionality.

Intent requests permissions only when they are relevant to a feature.

Usage Access

Android Usage Access allows Intent to determine when applications are used and to calculate screen-time and app-usage statistics.

Information obtained through Usage Access is primarily processed locally on your device.

Accessibility Service

Intent may use an Android Accessibility Service to detect when relevant applications are opened and to trigger an active blocking, intervention, or redirection rule.

Intent’s Accessibility Service is used for Intent’s digital wellbeing functionality.

Intent is not designed to use Accessibility access to collect the content of private messages, passwords, keyboard input, payment information, emails, photos, files, or unrelated content displayed inside other applications.

Intent does not use Accessibility access for advertising profiling.

Display over other apps and intervention interfaces

Intent may use Android capabilities that allow an Intent intervention, blocking, or redirection interface to appear when a rule is triggered.

These capabilities are used only to provide the blocking, intervention, and redirection functionality requested by the User.

Installed application visibility

Intent may access information about applications available on the device, including app names, app icons, and package identifiers.

This information is necessary to allow you to select distracting applications, blocking lists, and redirection destinations.

Intent does not sell or use your installed-app information for advertising.

The complete installed-app catalogue is intended to remain on your device.

An application identifier may be synchronized when that application is specifically selected as part of an Intent rule or User preference.

Notifications

Intent may request permission to send notifications relating to Intent features, rules, subscription status, or other relevant application events.

Notification permission can be disabled through Android settings.

Intent does not use notifications for third-party advertising.

Background operation

Intent may need to operate in the background so that rules can continue to work when the main Intent interface is not open.

Depending on the Android version and device manufacturer, Intent may ask you to adjust background-activity or battery-optimization settings.

These settings are used to support reliable execution of features requested by you.

Scheduling

Intent may use Android scheduling functionality to activate, deactivate, or evaluate rules according to the days and times selected by you.

Information Intent does not intend to collect

Intent is not designed to collect:

• The content of your private messages

• Passwords entered into other applications

• Keyboard input from other applications

• Photos or personal files from other applications

• The content of emails

• Contacts or address books

• Full payment-card information

• Financial information displayed inside other applications

• The private content of third-party applications

• Precise GPS location

• Advertising identifiers for targeted advertising

If an unintended technical error causes sensitive information to appear in diagnostic information, Intent uses data-minimization and filtering measures designed to reduce the risk of such information being transmitted or retained.

Product analytics — PostHog

Intent uses PostHog for limited product analytics.

PostHog is configured using its European Union cloud region.

PostHog is used to understand whether important Intent features work and how Users progress through the product. It is not used to build advertising profiles.

Intent identifies authenticated Users in PostHog using a pseudonymous Supabase User ID rather than their email address.

The current analytics implementation uses a restricted list of product events such as:

• Onboarding started or completed

• Authentication completed and authentication method

• Rule created

• Rule enabled or disabled

• General rule mode, trigger type, or schedule type

• Statistics view opened and selected range

• Premium page viewed

• Premium call-to-action selected

• A Premium limit being reached

• Subscription restoration

Intent does not intentionally send PostHog:

• Your email address

• Your first or last name

• Passwords

• Raw app usage history

• Screen-time history

• The complete list of installed applications

• App names associated with your personal usage history

• Private message content

• Rule names entered by you

• Screen recordings

• Session replay recordings

Intent currently does not use mobile session replay.

PostHog analytics are not used for third-party targeted advertising and are not sold to advertisers.

PostHog Cloud EU states that its EU service is hosted in Frankfurt.

Crash and error monitoring — Sentry

Intent uses Sentry to detect crashes, technical errors, and reliability problems.

Sentry may process limited technical diagnostic information such as:

• App version

• Release and build information

• Operating system and version

• Device model or device category

• Error type

• Stack trace

• Technical error context

• Time of the error

• Environment information

• Limited performance or diagnostic information

Intent configures its Sentry integration using data-minimization and privacy protections.

Intent does not intentionally attach email addresses, passwords, authentication credentials, RevenueCat CustomerInfo objects, API keys, complete installed-app lists, raw app-usage histories, or User-created content to Sentry events.

Technical network information may also be processed by Sentry where necessary to provide its service and subject to Sentry configuration.

Sentry is used for application reliability and security, not for advertising.

Premium subscriptions, Google Play, and RevenueCat

Intent Premium subscriptions on Android are purchased through Google Play Billing.

Google processes payment credentials under Google’s own terms and privacy practices.

Intent does not directly receive or store your full credit-card number, debit-card number, or Google payment credentials.

Intent uses RevenueCat to manage and verify subscription entitlement.

RevenueCat may process information necessary to associate your Intent account with your subscription, including:

• A pseudonymous App User ID

• Subscription product identifier

• Subscription status

• Purchase and renewal status

• Subscription expiration information

• Purchase history relevant to Intent

• Google Play purchase or transaction information

• Information necessary to restore a subscription

Intent uses the pseudonymous Supabase User ID as the RevenueCat App User ID for authenticated Users.

Intent does not use your email address as the RevenueCat App User ID.

RevenueCat is used as the source of truth for determining whether the intent_pro Premium entitlement is active.

Google Play and RevenueCat may retain transaction or subscription records in accordance with their own legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, and service requirements.

Website, waitlist, and contact information

If you voluntarily provide information through the Intent website, for example through a waitlist or contact form, we may process information such as:

• Your email address

• Information you voluntarily include in a message or form

This information is used only for the purpose for which you provided it, such as replying to a request or notifying you about Intent’s availability.

The Intent website is hosted using Framer.

Waitlist or contact information may be stored using Google Workspace or Google Sheets infrastructure.

Brevo may be used to deliver launch-related or other communications that you have requested.

Joining a launch waitlist does not automatically subscribe you to unrelated marketing communications.

You may request removal from the waitlist or related communication list by contacting support@intentmobile.com.

Technical information

Intent and the services necessary to operate it may process limited technical information including:

• Device type

• Device model

• Operating system

• Operating system version

• Intent app version

• Language or regional settings

• Crash information

• Performance information

• Pseudonymous identifiers

• Date and time of certain interactions

• Features used within Intent

We do not use this information to create third-party advertising profiles.

How we use information

We use information described in this Privacy Policy to:

• Create and manage Intent accounts

• Authenticate Users

• Execute blocking, intervention, and redirection rules

• Apply User-created schedules and limits

• Generate local usage statistics

• Restore and synchronize selected account settings

• Synchronize rules and User preferences

• Synchronize App Type overrides

• Provide and verify Premium access

• Restore subscriptions

• Provide customer support

• Diagnose crashes and technical problems

• Secure Intent and prevent abuse

• Improve reliability and product design

• Understand high-level use of Intent features

• Deliver requested waitlist or launch communications

• Comply with applicable legal obligations

Intent does not sell personal information.

Intent does not use personal information for third-party targeted advertising.

Legal basis for processing

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) or similar legislation applies, Intent relies on one or more appropriate legal bases.

Performance of a contract

Certain processing is necessary to create your account, authenticate you, synchronize your selected Intent configuration, execute the functions you request, and manage Premium access.

Consent

Intent may rely on your consent where required for optional processing, communications, analytics, or Android permissions.

Android permissions can generally be withdrawn through your device settings.

Where applicable, consent may also be withdrawn by contacting us.

Legitimate interests

Intent may process limited information where necessary for legitimate interests such as:

• Maintaining application security

• Preventing abuse

• Diagnosing technical errors

• Improving reliability

• Understanding the general performance of Intent

We seek to balance these interests against your privacy rights.

Legal obligations

We may process or retain information where necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, legal proceedings, tax or accounting requirements, or lawful requests from public authorities.

Data storage and local-first architecture

Intent uses a combination of local device storage and external service providers.

Local device storage is used for operational data such as rules required at runtime, application usage information, and locally generated statistics.

Supabase is used for account authentication and synchronization of selected account data such as rules, preferences, App Type overrides, and personalization settings.

Intent does not currently use Supabase as a cloud archive of your raw Android usage history.

Supabase projects are deployed in a defined hosting region. Intent aims to select appropriate hosting locations and safeguards for its Users.

PostHog product analytics are configured to use PostHog Cloud EU.

Other providers may process information in other countries where permitted by applicable law and subject to appropriate safeguards.

Service providers

We may use third-party service providers where necessary to operate Intent, including:

• Supabase — authentication, database, backend infrastructure, and synchronization

• Google — Google Sign-In and related Android services

• Google Play — application distribution, billing, and subscription transactions

• RevenueCat — subscription entitlement and purchase-status management

• PostHog — privacy-minimized product analytics

• Sentry — crash and error monitoring

• Framer — website hosting and website functionality

• Google Workspace / Google Sheets — website form, waitlist, or contact-data storage where used

• Brevo — requested launch or email communications where used

• Resend — transactional emails used to verify account-deletion requests and notify users after confirmed processing. These emails are not marketing subscriptions.

These providers process information according to their own contractual, security, and privacy obligations.

We do not authorize these providers to use Intent User data for Intent’s own third-party advertising purposes.

Security

Intent uses reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or destruction.

Measures may include:

• HTTPS/TLS for network communications

• Secure authentication

• Supabase Row Level Security

• Separation of individual User data

• Least-privilege access

• Restricted administrative access

• Secure handling of credentials and API keys

• Keeping privileged credentials outside the mobile application

• Data minimization

• Privacy filtering of analytics and diagnostic information

• Dependency and security updates

• Error monitoring

No application, device, network, or online service can guarantee absolute security.

Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Account data and synchronized configuration may generally be retained while you maintain an Intent account.

Local usage history and local statistics may remain on your device until they are deleted by Intent, the App’s local data is cleared, the account is deleted, or Intent is removed, subject to platform behavior.

Product analytics and crash information are retained according to Intent’s configured retention periods and the service-provider functionality required to operate those services.

Subscription and transaction information may be retained by Google Play or RevenueCat for longer periods where necessary for transaction history, fraud prevention, accounting, legal compliance, or subscription restoration.

If you delete your Intent account, account-associated information under Intent’s control will be deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period unless continued retention is required for security, fraud prevention, legal, accounting, or regulatory purposes.

Some information may remain temporarily in backups until normal backup rotation removes it.

Sharing information

Intent does not sell or rent Users’ personal information.

Intent does not sell app usage information to advertisers.

Information may be made available to the service providers identified in this Privacy Policy only where reasonably necessary for the services they provide.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law, regulation, court order, or another lawful governmental request, or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, security, and safety of Intent, our Users, or others.

International data transfers

Intent is intended to serve Users in Europe and the United States.

Some service providers may process information outside your country of residence.

Where personal information protected by the GDPR or similar legislation is transferred to a country without an applicable adequacy decision, appropriate safeguards may be used where required.

These may include:

• Standard Contractual Clauses

• Data Processing Agreements

• Adequacy decisions

• Other legally recognized transfer mechanisms

Where reasonably possible, Intent favors European data-processing regions for information relating to European Users.

Cookies and website technologies

The Intent website does not currently use advertising cookies or cross-site advertising tracking for Intent’s own advertising purposes.

Framer or other infrastructure providers may use technical cookies, local storage, server logs, or similar technologies that are necessary for website operation, security, performance, or functionality.

If Intent later introduces non-essential website analytics, advertising technology, or additional tracking, this Privacy Policy and any required consent mechanisms will be updated.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to your personal information.

These may include the right to:

• Request access to your personal information

• Request correction of inaccurate information

• Request deletion

• Request restriction of processing

• Object to certain processing

• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

• Request a portable copy of certain information

• Lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection authority

We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.

European Users

If you are located in the European Economic Area or another jurisdiction applying similar data-protection legislation, your personal data may be protected by the GDPR or applicable national legislation.

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent.

Because Intent is operated from France, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (“CNIL”).

United States Users

Depending on the U.S. state in which you reside and the legislation applicable to Intent, you may have rights including:

• The right to know what personal information is collected

• The right to access personal information

• The right to correct inaccurate information

• The right to request deletion

• The right to receive certain information in a portable format

• The right to opt out of certain sales, sharing, or targeted advertising practices

• The right not to be discriminated against for exercising applicable privacy rights

Intent does not sell personal information.

Intent does not use personal information for third-party targeted advertising.

Account deletion

You can request deletion of your Intent account and associated data at https://www.intentmobile.com/delete-account or contact support@intentmobile.com if the automated service is unavailable.

The secure process verifies the account email and requires an explicit confirmation on the linked page.

Opening the email link alone does not delete anything. The confirmation link expires after 30 minutes.

Deletion covers the account, synchronized rules, settings, app-category overrides and personalizations, and requests erasure of associated RevenueCat and PostHog data.

Provider processing can be asynchronous; completion is reported only after the required checks confirm the covered erasures.

Account deletion does not cancel a Google Play subscription; subscription cancellation remains managed through Google Play.

Local data, account archives, exports and device backups can remain on a phone, especially offline.

Clear Intent’s application data in Android settings or uninstall it to remove local copies.

Transaction, security, legal records and backups may be retained where required or until their applicable retention expires; contact support for applicable exceptions.

Children’s privacy

Intent is intended for a general audience and is not specifically designed or marketed as a service for children.

We do not knowingly collect or process personal information from children in circumstances that would violate applicable child-privacy or data-protection laws.

Where applicable law requires authorization from a parent or legal guardian before a child may provide personal information or use a particular feature, the required authorization must be obtained.

Age and parental-consent requirements may differ depending on the User’s country or jurisdiction.

If we become aware that information relating to a child has been processed in violation of applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

Future features and changes to data processing

Intent is expected to continue evolving.

Planned or future functionality may include additional statistics, weekly summaries, additional Premium functionality, additional personalization, new supported platforms, or improvements to Intent’s rules and interventions.

Where these features can be provided using information already processed locally, Intent intends to preserve its local-first approach.

The introduction of a future feature does not automatically mean that additional personal information will be uploaded to Intent’s servers.

If a future feature introduces a materially new category of personal information, a new third-party processor, cloud synchronization of information that previously remained local, or another significant change to how information is used, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Intent, its functionality, technology, service providers, security practices, legal requirements, or data-processing practices.

When this Privacy Policy is updated, the “Last updated” date at the beginning of the Policy will be revised.

Where required by law, significant changes may also be communicated through the App, Site, email, or another appropriate method.
